Sandro Gonnella Tailored eyewear “A frame has to be unique, just like the person who wears it”.
Discover the secrets of the Ozona creations

A name that stands for a philosophy

Since Sandro began producing unique pairs of eyeglasses in 2005, the title of "eyeglass tailor" is what fills him with the greatest pride and best represents him.

Each one of us is unique and unrepeatable. I find it very satisfying to turn every customer's desire into a design object, just like a tailor does with a shirt.

After receiving a degree in design and having learned all the secrets of the eyewear industry in one of the sector's leading companies, Sandro decided to dedicate himself to a variety of creations that are totally unthinkable in a perspective of standardised production.

My laboratory was created exactly for this purpose: to provide eyeglasses in which there is a rare detail that the customer can appreciate, while knowing that no other pair of glasses in the world has it.

In the Middle Ages, when a perfect sword was required, one that was tailored to each individual warrior, it was only a great craftsman who could make it. Today things are no different and each unique frame requires a contemporary craftsman who knows how to make the most of manual techniques and technology.

Be motivated by the highest inspirations

For Sandro, Italy is an endless source of excellent solutions and the widespread cult of "beauty." For this reason, once the customer has been understood, every concept and every idea must then measure themselves with the highest aesthetic ideals of our culture.

My father always told me to "raise your eyes and look up." I have found that design is a wonderful way to apply art, sculpture and painting to a product.

Sandro has succeeded in instilling Italian excellence in his product, creating shapes and finishes that are totally incompatible with industrial production. For this reason he is considered a great example in the world of "Made in Italy." Now he hopes that other talented Italians will soon discover their future in craftsmanship.

In 6 lessons Sandro Gonnella will illustrate how a dialogue with the customer, various inspirations and technology can give rise to a true masterpiece "Made in Italy." All the secrets and tips for talented young people from the most appreciated "eyeglass tailor" in the world.
